Hello loves! I haven't been on Instructables for a bit and I hope to be active since it's summer time and my work load isn't as heavy. Since it was recently Mother's Day, I was inspired to make this pressed flower card because I thought it was so lovely and just a sweet idea!

Step 1: Supplies

1. Various wildflowers and leaves (at least four different types)

2. Three sheets of card stock

3. Sharpie pen

4. Scissors

5. Liquid glue

6. Paint Brush

7. Tweezers

8. Parchment Paper

9. Heavy Books

10. Pencil

11. Jar template

**Optional: tissue paper and twine

Step 2: Pressing the Flowers

The first step of this tutorial is (of course) to press the flowers!

Gather up some different types of flowers that are small enough for the card and good enough to press. For example, a full bloom rose would be way to big for this small card. I bought four different pots of flowers from Trader Joe's as well as a small bundle of baby's breath because you can't go wrong with that!

Rip out some parchment paper and place it into a large book. You can layer your leaves and flowers on one side of the parchment paper and gently close the book shut. Now flip it upside down and put some more weight on it.

Let the flowers set for a couple days or at least until the flowers are dried out.

**Note: As you can see, some of the flowers didn't press very well. However, if this happens, you can always reconstruct your own design with the individual petals.

Step 3: Preparing the Card Base

You can really cut your cards to whatever dimensions you prefer, but I personally cut the card stock to 8.26" x 5.83" and folded it in half.

**Note: be careful when folding the card stock in half. you don't want to create any creases where they shouldn't be.

I took my jar template and placed it underneath the card stock (on the right side/the front of the card) in front of a window so that the lines would be easier to see.

Lightly trace the lines with a pencil then go back and make he lines bolder and darker with a precise sharpie or marker.

Step 4: Applying the Flowers to the Card

To pick up the flowers from the parchment paper, use tweezers so that nothing tears.

**Note: You have to be very gentle when handling the pressed flowers because they can easily rip or break.

Use a scrap piece of paper to arrange your flowers in whatever way you want. You can have some fun with this step and really make it however you like! Not all of the pieces need to have a stem going into the jar, you can have some flowers or leaves just floating near the top of the jar as you can see above.

When you are ready to apply the pieces to your card, dip a paint brush in some wet glue and lightly apply some to each piece. Make sure that you cover every edge of the piece or something can peel or come loose. Be thorough but also don't glob too much glue on because then it will be difficult to dry.

Step 5: Experiment With Different Designs!

Once you get the hang of arranging the flowers, they will turn out even prettier. The card in the middle is probably my favorite and it was the last one I did so if at first you don't like how it looks, just try arranging them differently until you find a combination that you like!

Step 6: Wrap It Up!

Instead of using an envelope where the flowers could get damaged, you can wrap it in tissue paper and tie twine around it in a cute little bow!

Step 7: Finished!
