Comme nous ne pouvons être présents pour la collation des grades, cet évènement qui conclus notre baccalauréat, Lambert et moi avons décidé de faire notre propre remise de diplôme.... avec un budget de 3 livres sterling (4,80$). Soit une économie de 45,20$ comparé à la cérémonie officielle!

Voici donc un DIY pour tous les expatriés de la cohorte sur comment célébrer avec dignité cet événement honorable.

My friend Lambert and I moved out of Canada a few months after we finished school. I am in Paris and he studies in London. Many other student from my program now moved back to their homeland and won't be able to be present for their graduation day. We decided to celebrate anyways and made a grad suit tutorial for our friends across the world.

Step 1: Material

Vous aurez besoin de
-sac poubelle noir minimum 50 litres
-grand carton noir
-boite de popcorn

You will need :
-garbage bags (minimum 50 liters)
-a big black cardboard
-a popcorn box!

Step 2: Hat/chapeau

Couper un rectangle de 10x20 po dans le carton noir et pliez-le en 2 s'il ne se tient pas par lui-même.
Fermer les bords avec du scotch transparent.
Coupez une bande de 2po et ajustez un anneau pour votre tour de tête.
Scotchez l'anneau de tête au carré du chapeau.

Cut a 10" x 20" rectangle in black cardboard and bend it in half.
Use scotch to seal the sides.
Cut a 2" stripe and adjust a ring to the size of your head.
Once done, fix it to the top of the hat

Step 3: Ponpon

Coupez un rectangle d'approximativement 1.5x 10 po et y couper des languettes de 1/4 de pouce
s'arrêter avant la fin du ruban( garder environ 1 pouce)

Cut a 1.5'' x 10'' rectangle in cardboard. Make 1/4 slices, leaving the 1'' to hold them together.

Step 4: Robe

Pour le fameux habit noir, il vous suffit de couper les deux coins d'un grand sac poubelle (50-100 L) du côté scellé puis de tirer une grande ouverture au centre. Passer les bras dans les coins, et vous obtenez la robe de graduation!

For the black robe, just cut the corners of a garbage bag (50-100L) and cut across the middle. Slide your arms in the holes and you got your fancy suit.

Step 5: Diplome

Avec nos ressources limitées. Le matériel à notre porté pour le diplôme se résume à une boite de popcorn et des notes de cours du RCA.

Coupez soigneusement une bande rouge de la boite et enroulez-la autour de la feuille serrée en tube.

With our low budget, and a lack of raw material, we used a popcorn box and used papers.
Cut the red stripe of the box and tie it around the rolled paper.

Step 6: Party!

Attendez l'heure de la cérémonie officielle et lancez votre chapeau en même temps que vos camarades.
Bravo, vous êtes officiellement diplômés à l'américaine.

Now, Ohh students so far from your dear university, just wait until the ceremony and make a little Skype party!
