"There were once three brothers who were traveling along a lonely, winding road at twilight. In time, the brothers reached a river too deep to wade through and too dangerous to swim across.. However, these brothers were learned in the magical arts, and so they simply waved their wands and made a bridge appear across the treacherous water. They were halfway across it when they found their path blocked by a hooded figure."

That is the first part of the tale of three brothers, one of the stories in the tales of Beedle the Bard, and by far the most popular one, because of its crucial part in the Harry Potter series.

In the series, the Deathly Hallows symbol is mentioned as a pendant. However, when I started thinking about what I should make, I first thought about these earrings. My mind went from these earrings to the Deathly Hallows necklace, and this pair of earrings was the eventual result! Of course, if you'd rather make a necklace, all you have to do is add a necklace instead of earrings :)

I had a lot of fun making these, I think they turned out great and I hope you'll like them as well!

Step 1: Materials

To make your own deathly hallows earrings, you will need:

- earring hooks

- wire, gauge 21/ 0,81 mm and gauge 26/ 0,46 mm

- (optional) a mandrel

- pliers

- jump rings

- a piece of paper

- a pencil

Step 2: Drawing

Take your piece of paper, the pencil and the mandrel. Start by tracing the top of the mandrel to create the resurrection stone. If you don't like the size, you can just use an other round object. Next, sketch the three lines that will make up the cloak of invisibility. It can take a bit of trail and error to get them right, but don't give up. To end your drawing, draw a line from the bottom of the triangle trough the top corner.

Step 3: The Elder Wand

Cut off a piece of gauge 21/ 0,81 mm wire to begin with. I didn't really measure, I just used one round.

Using the tip of your round nose pliers, bend a small loop. Place the pliers as shown in picture four and bend the remaining wire slightly around it to make the loop sit straight on top of the wire.

Step 4: The Resurrection Stone

Place the wire on the drawing to see where you need to start bending the circle. Use your flat nose pliers to bend it to the side as shown. Next, take your mandrel or the round object you've decided to use. Hold the wire with your thumb as shown and bend the end of the wire around it to create your circle.

Step 5: The Cloak of Invisibility I

As you can see in the first picture, because of the way the resurrection stone was created, there is quite a bit of space between the elder wand and the stone. To fix this, bend them a bit closer together. They will still be standing slightly apart from each other, but that will be fixed later.

Place the wire on the picture again to see where the first corner of the cloak of invisibility will be. Depending on how you want it to look, you can use flat nose pliers or round nose pliers to make the corner. I used round nose pliers to give it a bit of a softer look.

Step 6: The Cloak of Invisibility II

Bend the wire far enough to let it touch the circle as shown. Make sure the wire is on the opposite side of the resurrection stone, this will help the circle and the triangle sit closer to the elder wand. Bend the wire down precisely where it crosses the elder wand. Bend it down far enough to let it touch the circle.

Step 7: Ending the Shape

Create the final corner at the same height of the first corner. Cut off the remaining wire just a bit next to the elder wand as shown.

Step 8: Securing I

Cut off a piece of the gauge 26/ 0,46 mm with a length you feel comfortable about working with. Make sure the side of the pendant you want to be the front is the side you see. Wrap it around the top part of the wire making up the triangle as shown, let it cross over to the other side and coil it around that side as well. Using an even amount of coils around both parts will help give your pendant a nice, finished look

Step 9: Flattening

Once you are done wrapping, cut off the wire and use your flat nose pliers to clamp down the ends. Make sure both ends are on the backside of your pendant, so that eventually your front side will look perfect.

Step 10: Securing II

Wrap a bit of wire around the parts where the triangle and the circle touch as well. Use the technique described last step to end the wires. Again, using the same amount of coils and ending al wires on the same side makes it look better :)

Step 11: Securing III

On the bottom of the triangle, you can basically do the same as what you did last step, just keep in mind that the wire ends here as well so that final part can be a bit tricky to wrap without the wrapped wire slipping off.

Step 12: The Pendants

After that, your pendant is finished! Depending on what you want to make, earrings or a necklace, you might have to repeat step 3 - 11.

Step 13: Make It Dangle

Take your jump rings and use them to connect the pendant to the earring hooks. Or, if you chose to make a necklace, to your necklace of course :)

Step 14: Done!

And that's it! I don't have pictures of the earrings being worn, since I don't have earrings myself, but I know a friend who is going to be very happy with these ;)
