Introduction: Fishing Bubble Float

Fishing in stream with a floater is an interesting common way. You can throw-in the floater upwards often, or try to hold it in a position. Therefore we use planer boards. In a little size we can make a special planer board that looks like a bubble float, and can go in the river about 15-25-m crosswise the stream. This size is in a slow stream the good type, for a high-speed river would be another better. The bubble float is bind on the line at the knot of the balancing rigs, and on the stern there is a hook rig, with about 80 cm length.

Step 1: Assambled Materials

We need some simple things, like corks, plastic pipe, a plane piece of a plastic bottle, sandpaper, a piece of wire, adhesive for plastic, and tools, like plier and cutter. For static bWe need fishing line too, and some eyes, for fixing the line on the bubble float.alance we need a fishing leed, about 4 gram.

Step 2: Body of Bubber

We cut the pipe longways, and make a sign on the ends, where it is closed to the corks. So we can fit the corks in the pipe, and have some more material.

Step 3: Joint for Keel

The bubber will swim, but we want to send it crosswise the stream, so it has to go like a sailing-ship. Instead of wind, we use the water. We make a little keel under the bubber, and for the joint a rim.

Step 4: Keel

We put the keel in the joint, and tie it with the wire.

Step 5: Assembling the Bubber

The bubber has to be watertight, so you have to seal it with adhesive. The form can be parabolical or droplet, but it is right when you round the ends. In the keel on the back side you has to fit a piece of weight, this makes a satical balance. I put a fishing leed. The fishing leed on the keel puts the float up in water.

On the sides we make two wings, and on the top a signal plate. Then we make three eyes/terminals from the wire, where the fishing line will join. One on the ends of the side-wings, one on the stem off the bubber, and one on the bottom side of the keel. The balance shall be so, that when we hang the bubble float up, the stem shall be on the highest level, the stern lower, and the keel shell be a little upwards, not downward looking.
We set up a line in each ear, and knot it so, that the knot shall be in the water surface when the bubber swims, but about the bow of the bubber. (About the normal of bubber-axis, at the bow.) The distance of the knot can be about two bubber-lenght.

At least you can paint the bubber in a natural color, the upper signal-plate can be orange, or other warm color.

For the season of most predator fishes so we can have some chances!

Step 6: The High-speed Type

Fishing in a high-speed river is possible with a slim type. You can not throw it in the water, but you must take it in, like a ship, and let it swim with the stream. Than you can pull the line a little, and the bubble float goes the stream crosswise.
