Introduction: Giant 4' X 8' Postcard

About: I make videos on my YouTube channel about all the projects I've made. Check it out Chipped Builds on instagram and YouTube.

I made a giant wooden postcard from sheet of plywood! I made this for an event my sister was putting on. They wanted a retro looking postcard, so they mod podged the wood with retro postcards they printed from the internet. I then cut out all the letters on my cnc machine and we attached it to some 2 x 4's to stand it up against the wall.

Step 1: Adding the Paper to the Plywood

We got a piece of plywood from home depot. My sister took it to her boss's house so that they could mod podge the retro printed postcards to make the massive one. They just found those images on google. Once they glued them down and it dried they went over it with a coat of mod podge to the top.

Step 2: Cutting Out the Letters

I used my cnc machine to cut out these massive letters for the postcard. This was a relatively quick process and the letters turned out great. I cut small pieces of one inch dowels to use as stand offs to give letters some depth from the background.

Another alternative is to cut these letters from white foam board. I have done something similar to that in the past.

Step 3: Hot Glue the Letters to the Plywood

This is the simplest part of the project. I spaced out all the letters and then used a hot glue gun to secure the letters to the plywood.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Massive Postcard!

This was such a fun project! It came out looking great and everyone loved it. I now want to make giant versions of everything! Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or if you make one.
