Introduction: Grandma's Oatmeal Crunch Cookies

Intro: This is my Grandmas Recipe for oatmeal cookies. These cookies are guaranteed to give you a home warming feeling.

Prep Time:20 min.      -    Cook Time:10 min.   -   Ready In: 30min.

Ingredients:

1) 1 cup all-purpose flour

2) 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3) 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

4) 1/4 teaspoon salt

5)  1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

6) 1/2 cup shortening

7) 1 egg

8) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

9) 1 cup quick-cooking oats, uncooked

10) 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate morsels

11) 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions:

          Combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
     Combine sugar and shortening, creaming well; beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture, and mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels, and pecans.
          Microwave Option: Microwave sixcookies at a time, dropping heaping teaspoon fulls of dough in a ring onto a waxed paper-lined glass pizza plate. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%power) for 2 to 3 minutes or until cookies are dry on the surface, rotating dish one half-turn at 1 minute intervals. Slide waxed paper with cookies onto counter, and let cool 2 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks  to complete cooling. Repeat procedure with remaining dough. Yield: about 3 dozen
     Oven Option: Heat for 350 in until brown. (Note: cookies will remain soft in the middle) let sit until cooled
