Introduction: Halloween Sweetness

4 year old Sydney loves all things cupcake! Except for a few hand stitches, this costume is no sew. The liner is made from poster board that was folded and then mod podged to protect from any elements. I used packaging tape to tape the poster board from the inside to a small plastic laundry basket that the bottom was cut out of. Ribbon was used  for shoulder straps that were tied onto the basket rim. The batting '"frosting" is from a roll so it is one piece with a hole cut in the center for the head. The sides of the batting are hand stitched leaving some room for the arms.  I used spay adhesive to attach the batting to the inside rim of the poster board liner. Batting is attached to the shoulder straps with safety pins on top of the shoulder area to hold the whole costume together.  Pom poms are glued on for the sprinkles. The cherry, I think, makes the costume!  It's a styrofoam ball painted red. Of course, I had to add some glitter to the paint to make it sparkle. A brown pipe cleaner and some green felt leaves complete the cherry on top. EASY and FUN to make. There were no complaints about being uncomfortable or hard to walk in and it's easy to get on and off.  It was the best Halloween yet!
