Introduction: Homestyle Honey Whole Wheat Cookies

This is such a fluffy, delicate biscuit recipe. The cookie had honey in it, it turned out chewy and soft. It is very simple to make and we make it regularly at home. Serve with your favorite mid afternoon drink, a breakfast side, a kiddie snack box.

This has now become a regular recipe at home for the kids. They love it and yes it is healthy. You can bake them real quick and can be stored in an air tight container. Keep munching.!

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Baking time: 25 minutes


Ingredients:

2.5 C Whole Wheat or White Whole Wheat Flour

0.5 C White Flour or Bread Flour

2.5 tsp baking powder

0.5 tsp baking soda

0.75 tsp salt

0.5 C (1 stick) cold unsalted butter

1 large egg

0.75 C buttermilk

3 tbsp honey

Step 1: Knead

Combine dry ingredients. Whisk together all purpose flour, Wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Step 2: Butter

Add butter to dry ingredients. In a mixer or food processor pulse til they are of a crumble texture.

Step 3: Wet Ingredients

In separate bowl, combine egg, milk and honey. Whisk them together.

Add liquid all at once, mixing with fork until evenly moist.

Step 4: Knead

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 15 turns.

Step 5: Roll

Roll the dough out into a 3/4-inch thick round.

Cut circles with a 2-inch biscuit cutter and arrange them on a baking sheet.

Step 6: Bake

Preheat the oven for 5 minutes at 180 degree Celsius. Bake the cookies at 180 degree Celsius for 20 minutes.

Keep checking the bottom. Bake till they are golden brown.

This is a healthy biscuit and I am sure the kids would love it.
