Introduction: How to Install Ford F150 F250 F350 LED Pods As Fog Lights

About: Everything about automotive LED lights

This is a tutorial that will show you how to install the 40W Ford LED fog lights fit for the following Ford trucks:

  • 2015-2017 Ford F-150
  • 2018 Ford F-150 (facelift model)
  • 2017-up Ford F-250 & F-350 Super Duty

These Ford trucks share the same lower bumper fog light and bezel design and so whether you purchased the dual LED pod light kit or the single LED pod light kit, either one will fit these F series trucks. You may perform this installation without first removing your fog light bezel, however, you may have very limited hand space to tightly mount your LED fog lights. This demonstration will show you the pod light installation process with the fog light bezel removed. Please also note that this LED fog light kit uses your existing fog light bezels and does NOT come with its own fog lamp bezels. After installation, your Ford F-150 or Super Duty truck will have enhanced lighting output ideal for use in late night work sites or rural areas.

Step 1: Preassemble Your LED Pod Lights.

Follow this guide to learn how to preassemble your LED pod lights.

Step 2: Remove the Bolts Securing the Wheel Well Liner and the Fender Flare.

Perform this step on the other side as well.

Step 3: Take Out Your Fender Flare Completely.

Step 4: Remove the Screws Circled in Red.

Take out the air vent if your Ford Superduty truck came with it.

Step 5: Remove Your Stock Fog Lights and Bezels.

Unbolt the screws circled in red and the vertical beam to give yourself more hand space.

Step 6: Carefully Take the Fog Light Bezels Out.

Be patient in performing this step because this is the most difficult part of the installation. Angle the bezel carefully so no other parts become loose. You won't have to remove the bumper to install the cubed CREE LED fog lights this way.

Repeat steps 4-6 on the other side.

Step 7: Bolt the Dual Mount Pod Light Support Brackets Onto the Fog Light Bezels.

If installing a single LED podlamp, thread the bolts outwards so that they don't get in the way of the LED pod lights.

Step 8: You Can Thread the Bolts in Either Direction If Installing Dual LED Pod Lights.

Step 9: Mount the LED Pod Light(s).

Run a screw through the pod lights' U-bracket. Secure them to the bigger bracket by threading a nut through the screw.

You may also bolt the LED pod lights onto the metal mounting brackets before mounting the pod light/bracket assembly to the fog light bezels.

Step 10: Final Steps

Mount the LED foglight/bezel assemblies back to the fog light openings.

Wire your LED fog lights using the included pigtail wiring adapters.

Test your LED fog lamps to make sure it functions properly. Once you've confirmed that they do, put the air vent bezels, wheel wells, and fender flare back into place to finish.

You may now enjoy your Ford F-150's brand new set of dual LED fog lights!
