Introduction: How to Repair Samsung Galaxy S5 Glass Only

About: I love Apple products! I have been repairing them since I was a teenager. I have a lot of experience in technology and have a bachelors in computer science.

In this instructable I will guide you on how to apply a brand new glass screen onto a Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone. Now I expect you were able to separate your cracked glass from your working lcd display. In order to do this you will need an lcd separator machine to be able to get the glass off the lcd. I made an instructable called "How to Replace Glass Only Screen on your iPhone 5s", follow that in order to separate the glass away it is the same processes. You cannot do the repair without the machine. A heat gun will not work! Check out lcd separator machine reviews for more info on the machine itself.

In order to adhere the new screen on the lcd, we use uv glue and a uv light.

Lets begin.

Step 1: Put It in the Mold

You will need to use a mold for this repair. The mold helps the new screen lay perfect on the lcd. You must have one. Buy them here.

Step 2: Double Check

Make sure the lcd is free of any dust and figure prints. I assume you already have removed the old loca glue.

Step 3: Apply the Glue

You will need to use loca glue. This is a special glue that dried only under uv light. No other glue will work!

Buy it here.

Apply the glue in "Y" form. So you will have two "Y" connecting to each other like in the picture. This is so air bubbles do not get in and the glue spreads evenly.

Step 4: Replacement Screen

Take your replacement screen and put it down on one side, while slowly lowering it on the other with a paper clip. If you do it too fast, you will get air bubbles.

Buy replacement screen here.

Step 5: UV Light

Once the new screen in on the lcd, make sure there are not bubbles. If there are bubbles you will want to squeeze them out gently.

You can either use a uv light, but I prefer a nail dryer. Works the same. Put it in for 5 minutes.

Step 6: Finished

Finally wipe any excess glue that didn't dry around the screen. Test out the screen to make sure the touch is recognized and the screen has no blemishes. You can now put it back onto your phone.
