Introduction: How to Install Audacity in Windows 7

In this video tutorial, I will show u how to install Audacity 2.1.0 on Windows 7.

How to record, playback and save the recorded audio.

Audacity is a free, easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. The interface is translated into many languages.

Download Audacity at http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/

Step 1: Access Audacity Link

Go to www.yahoo.com

Type audacity in search box

Click on link to download Audacity

Step 2: Download Audacity

In tab Download

Click on the link to download the version match to your Operating System

Step 3: Save the Download File

You can save Audacity executable (.exe) to your desktop or to a folder

Step 4: Install Audacity

Double-click on Audacity executable to begin installation

Click Yes if it ask your permission to allow this program make change to the computer

Step 5: Continue Installation

Click Next to continue...

Step 6: Install Additional Plug-ins

Click OK to install addition plug-ins needed by Audacity

Step 7: Check Default Recording Device

Go to Control Panel, Sound, tab Recording

Take note of the default recording device (green check mark)

Step 8: Check Audacity Recording Device

Start up Audacity

Make sure the entry next to the icon Microphone match the default recording device in Sound

Step 9: Start Recording Sound

Press the Red button to start recording

Start talking into your microphone

Press the Yellow square button to stop recording

Step 10: View Recording Result

If recording was success full, then you will have a wave line as show

Step 11: Play Back Recorded Sound

Press Green arrow to play back the sound we just recorded

Step 12: Save Selected Recording

Highlight the portion of wave sound we wish to save

Step 13: Play Selected Audio Portion

Press the Green arrow button to play only the selected audio portion

Step 14: Save Audio Secton

From menu, File -> Export Selected Audio

Step 15: Save Audio to a Folder

Navigate to the folder where we will store this audio file and give it a name

You can select from drop-down menu for file type. In this example I selected WAV

Step 16: Listen to Audio File

Double-click on the audio file and the default player will attempt the play

In this example I have Windows Media Player as my default audio player
