Introduction: Human Size Rat Trap


Easy to make and fun from kids thru adults. You will get screams of fear and delight and prepare to be surprised by who does what!

Step 1: Step 1


Buy a sheet of 5/8 or 3/4 plywood (any thinner and screws can fail)
Paint with a heavy duty primer.

Step 2: Step 2


After drying place heavy paper on plywood in preparation to layout pattern and cut out stencil.

Step 3: Step 3


Layout and cut stencil pattern secure with thumb tacks.
Spray pattern and you can use this as often as you need to make multiple traps.

Step 4: Step 4


Find center point of panel.
Make the trap frame out of 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC use Red Hot Blue glue to save time in assembly.
Attach with metal pipe clamps at pipe joints

Step 5: Step 5


Figure you angle of stop for the trap and set your T-fitting.
Add an 8 inch riser with a second T- fitting to take the bungee you are going to use to power the trap.
You do not want the trap to close all the way to prevent damage to your guests

Step 6: Step 6


Attach bungee cord through the second T-fitting until trap tips up into place and secure.
Now when you pull it back it is ready to spring.

Step 7: Step 7


The final part is the release mechanism a simple Nail in block holding the trap in place with a cable or spring attached to
a release pad offset from the main body of the plywood so no one gets in the direct path of the trap when it springs.
