Introduction: IKEA Kallax Shelf Insert CD Backstop Using Self-Stick Weatherseal

Create a backstop for CDs in the IKEA Kallax shelf insert using Vinyl Foam self-stick weatherseal.

Supplies

Step 1:

Cut a length of weatherseal to approximately 13 inches. Too long is better than too short.

Use two CDs laid flat on the shelf as a reference and choose a convenient depth for the backstop.

With the sticky side of the weatherseal facing down, use the edge of the CDs as a reference against the non-sticky edge to keep the weatherseal straight.

Press the weatherseal down firmly against the bottom of the shelf to stick it to the shelf. Do not remove the protective cover from the top of the weatherseal.

Step 2:

Replace the CDs in the shelf. Enjoy the new backstop and even depth of all of the CDs.

Step 3:

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for other shelves.
