Introduction: Install Ford Mustang LED DRL Sequential Turn Signal Lights

About: Everything about automotive LED lights

Let's learn how to install the switchback LED DRL turn signal lamps on the 2015-2017 Ford Mustang. You'll be able to command attention from other drivers as you signal your turn or lane merge with sweet sequential flowing turn signal lights. The LED daytime running lamp kit runs in xenon white by default; turning on your turn signals will make the lamps flash in amber yellow exclusively until you complete your turn or merge. This Mustang LED DRL turn signal light kit includes a relay wiring harness and a pair of in-line load resistors to prevent hyper flashing.

With all that said, let's begin!

Step 1: Gain Access to the Back of Your Stock Parking Lights.

Remove some screws holding the wheel well liners and peel it back.

Step 2: Unplug the Parking and Turn Signal Harnesses.

Remove the OEM turn signal light bulbs from its sockets.

Step 3: Take Out the Screws on Your Stock Parking Lights.

Replace the stock parking lights with the switchback LED daytime running light/turn signal lamps.

The mounting locations of the xenon white/amber yellow LED assembly are the same as your OEM parking lamps, which make for a simple direct replacement installation.

Step 4: Wire Your LED Turn Signal DRL Lights.

1. Plug the LED DRL’s turn signal plug into your stock turn signal harness. Twist-lock the connection to keep condensation from forming inside.

2. Connect the resistor decoder box onto the additional socket. Mount it onto a metal surface or let it hang.

3. Connect the red wire to your car battery (+) and the black wire to a ground or your car battery (-).

4. Tap the yellow wire to your ACC 12V (+). The additional white wire is optional.

5. Tap the blue wire to your tail light (+) to enable the sequential flashing feature.

6. Pull out the incandescent parking light bulb from your stock parking light harness. You will not be using this harness. Plug the unused parking light harness into the opening on the back side and twist lock to keep condensation from forming inside.

Step 5: Final Steps

Test the LED DRL turn signal lights to make sure it fully functions.

If the turn signal lights are not flashing, flip the connections and try again.

Once you've confirmed full functionality, you may now take on the streets with your Ford Mustang's brand new LED daytime running lights with sequential flowing turn signal flashing!
