Introduction: LARP Whip

Hi guys, Foam-Smith back. I have seen all kinds of foam weapons for LARP but no one has been able to pull of a good cheap LARP whip. Well until today. I will be showing everyone how to make there very own LARP whip for $10.

Step 1: Material

1 box cutter
black marker
1ft (1 inch pvc)
3ft plastic chain
colored duck-tape
1 full pool noodle (any color you want)
fiber glass rod (only need about 2 inches)
1inch pvc pipe cover, (just about 2 inch will do)
drill ( Just used whatever size that is a little smaller than the fiber glass rode you are using so it is a tight fit)

Step 2: Step 1

Cut 1 ft of (1inch PVC pipe), next from the top of the pvc, take one end of the plastic chain connectors and measure from 1 link down. make a black mark where a whole will fit at the bottom of the link where it makes a half circle

Step 3: Step 2

Next take  a drill head and compare the thickness of that to your fiber glass rod piece. once you find the size drill, go 1 size smaller. (The reason is because we want to insure that the fiber glass rod piece does not move or budge)

Once you have drilled a hole from one side to the other take the last chain link from your 3ft plastic chain and put it in the pvc pipe. after that, rotate it and push your fiber glass rod piece through the hole, through the 1 chain link and through too the other side of the pvc pipe. (note: you might need a rubber hammer at hit the fiber glass rod piece a couple of time to get it too the other side)

After that use a tool to cut of the ends. You want about 1/8-1/4 of an inch sticking out both sides

Step 4: Step 3

Nex,t get  your (2 inch length) 1 inch pvc pipe cover and put it over the the fiber glass rod  pice you used to secure the plastic chain connector. (this adds protection slash comfort from injury

Step 5: Step 4

your foam whip should look exactly like this by this point in the instructable....

Step 6: Step 5

Next, we take our colored pool noodle and measure I believe it was 2 inch a piece. ( just put a piece of pool noodle down and measure 2 chain links a piece for your pool noodle length) once you have the length, make several copies. About 8.

While you are doing this, you will thread the chain through each pool noodle piece and pull it through. the noodles will be a tight fit which will insure they dont come off.

Note.....you want to leave 1 chain link a piece alone as a gap between each piece of pool noodle

Step 7: Step 6

Keep adding pieces till you reach the end and finish it off...... Your foam whip should look exactly like this when you are done.

Please note that I have tested this on my self and have whipped very hard... I did not really feel much of anything, but keep in mind that it can still hurt others. So i would suggest you keep whipping to a reasonable minimum. But if you really dont care then have at it. LOL!!!

Added design- I my self will be building an add on to this, on how to attach spikes for an brutal looking effect................
