Introduction: Make a Camera Hard Case Out of Recycled Materials!

If you have loads of camera gear and no case big enough, why not make your own! Its simple, easy and effective!
All you need is:
- spray glue
- lots of foam - came from an old matress and an old sofa - they were scrap pieces and mostly torn up which makes it more messy
- any type of case you want to use - i used a plastic brief case that someone was throwing out

- serrated knife
- scissors

My one may not look so good, but with a bit of patience and effort you can make on that is better than bought!!

Step 1: Adding Foam Layers

Measure and cut the bottom layer of foam, spray glue on case and foam and stick in applying pressure. Make sure you follow the instructions on your glue!

Step 2: Equipment Section

Again cut some foam to size and then mark out the areas to cut for your equipment. DO NOT glue this layer down, that way if you want to add more gear all you have to do is remove it and cut out a new section. Using a knife to cut works best! If you want to, you can use a marker to label each section. Add some extra foam for taller objects.

Step 3: Top Section

Glue in enough foam to keep the equipment firmly pressed in place! Make sure that it doesn't get in the way of the latch or hang out so the case can shut properly!

Step 4: Optional Decals

I recommend adding a decal so that you know which side is meant to be up when opening the case. I printed out a camera icon on my laser printer (for this to work it has to be a laser printer) and then stuck it down with tape and ironed it on. I found out that it didn't want to stick very well to this type of plastic but it left enough of a picture for me to trace!

Step 5: Conclusion!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my inscrutable and enjoy making your own!
If you change or add anything, let us know in the comments so everyone can try it out!
