Introduction: Nexus 7 R/C Control Mount Using Leftover GoPro Camera Mounts Parts

This is a mod I made with my Turnigy / Imax 9x R/C Transmitter in order to have Ardupilot on my Nexus 7 Tablet mounted for easy no hands viewing. This is nothing more than a few GoPro mount pieces from different kits put together to form the adjustable tilt mount and removal a plastic piece from the top of the R/C Transmitter. We all have pieces like this laying around, put them together and see what you can come up with!

Step 1: Layout All of Your Parts...

This is simply my version and it can be done a million different ways with different parts. These just happened to be a few parts from my various GoPro mounts that are of no use anymore. I pre attached the tape mount clip to the Nexus 7 and didn't want to remove it just for the picture. I used a FLAT tape mount clip for the Nexus 7 and a CURVED tape mount clip for the R/C transmitter.

Step 2: Remove the Plastic Cover From Your R/C...

and sand it down smooth so that the CURVED tape mount clip for the R/C transmitter can adhere nicely.

Step 3: Mount the CURVED Tape Mount Clip for the R/C Transmitter

Just take the tape off and pop it right on top.

Step 4: Put Your Assorted GoPro Parts Together

Try many different configuration to suit your individual taste. This was my choice because i wanted to be able to tilt my Nexus 7.

Step 5: Clip the Bracket You Made to the R/C Control

The great thing about GoPro mounts is that they are a breeze to tighten/loosen and the clips un-clip easy so I can use my Nexus 7 when I am not flying my UAV.

Step 6: Clip Your Nexus 7 to Your Mount

Just pop your Nexus 7 on and away you go!

Step 7: Enjoy the Ease and Versatility...

It doesn't get much easier or economical than this to create a sturdy mount for viewing your flight software!
