Introduction: Origami Triangle Gift Box

Getting a gift in a handmade triangle origami box is sure to make the recipient smile. You can make one of these box using just 6 pieces of paper and a few folds, no glue or tape required.

If you can tell do the steps based off the pictures then don't bother reading the text, it's only included to help if you get stuck. Honestly writing about how to fold origami is no easy at all and there's a reason why most the time it only has diagrams and very little text.

A video of the square box. Triangle box video coming soon.

Step 1:

You will need:
-6 sheet of paper, 3 for the lid and 3 (gold, red and green) for the base (all red)

The pieces for the base have to be slightly smaller than the ones for the lid. If you need help making the paper smaller, check this out: https://www.instructables.com/id/Origami-Gift-Box/step2/null/

Step 2:

The first thing to do is to get some creases. Fold the paper in half and unfold then fold in half the other way and unfold. Bring the two edges in to meet the middle crease and fold and unfold. Now bring the bottom edge to the first crease line and fold and unfold.

Step 3:

Fold the right side over, using the bottom crease line as the endpoint. Fold the left side over, again using the same crease line as the endpoint. The edge should line up with the folded right side and create a triangular point. Fold the bottom up on the second crease line.

Step 4:

Fold the point of the triangle down. Fold the two flaps forward. Open up the unit as shown.

Step 5:

Insert the gold unit into the green one. Insert the green one into the red one and finally the red one into the gold one to form the triangle. Tuck the flaps in. Now repeat to made the base and you'll have a beautiful vessel to give gifts in.
