Introduction: Pyramid Head, Steampunk Style

About: I like Making computer art. I see beauty in junk. Where others see a sewing table I see a charging station. People saw old motherboards, I made a Led lamp. I like creating. Hope you enjoy my creations

This is my 4th pyramid head I have made. I spent about a year wanting to do this.

Hopefully you guys will like it to. Please let me know what you think in the comments!

TOOLS NEEDED:

Razor blade

Xacto blade

Hot glue gun

Dremel

Hole Punch

Compass

Plan:

I added some sketches I did as well.

Make sure you do plenty of research as well to get exactly what you want for it.

Step 1: Measure and Cut the Base Design

This video is where I got my measurements from. Use a yard stick, Draw with a sharpie and cut with razor blade.

Step 2: Cut Eye Holes

Take you front pieces and cut out the eyes. I measured 2 1/2" from bottom, and 2" on top and back.

Once you lay it all out, tape it on side to get a general shape of your helmet.

Step 3: Hot Glue It

With the tape in place, and the frame in place hot glue it from inside. Make sure use alot, don't get skimpy. If you are building this, I am sure you are planning on wearing it more than once

Step 4: Border

Make a piece on the front part where we measured 2 1/2" under the eye. I made it 2 1/2" and then follow the helmet around.

The top of the eye I did a 1" piece

Step 5: Spackle and Sand

All the cracks and mess ups you did you now need to fill. Let it dry and sand of the ruff edges

Step 6: Shoulder Piece

Bevel the bottom edge, and angle a 3" piece around the bottom, play with the angles a little to achieve what you want.

Step 7: Paint Round 1

I started painting it at this point to get a feel for what I wanted to add on it as I continued. Black seems to be a good base on on foam then use the color you want after the black dries

Step 8: Eyes

Measure the material that you want on the eyes. I used 2 layers, The metal part in the pic is from a aluminum satellite. The second layer on the inside I used the black sheeting you use in a garden for weed blocker.

I took the aluminum and dry brushed it gold

Now hot glue them on the inside into place

Step 9: Make Some Decor for It

I used a hole punch on sticky back sheet foam. Sticky back is good because it hard to use a hot glue gun on such small pieces. The I cut some V's out of the foam and painted them. Make sure to use mod podge to seal it and gloss it up.

Step 10: Optional! I Made a Backpack to Go With It

I had a firefighter tank pack I used for this part and layered some sheet foam to create the spine. Then I freelanced it and kept adding to what I had, none of it was planned

Step 11: Finished Product

This is what my semi-finished outfit looks like, I will still be adding to it. I cosplay pyramid head and I am adding alot more to it. I am making boots for it that I will add later.

Any questions or comments please leave them! I always like to here what you guys think!
