Replace BObi Pet's UV Lamp

bObi Pet's disinfecting UV lamp turns on automatically whenever bObi Pet works on any floor type. If yours is not working as it should, this tutorial shows exactly how to replace it yourself. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver, a replacement UV lamp for bObi Pet, and the text or video version of this guide.

Step 1: Turn BObi Pet Off

Before we get started, turn bObi Pet OFF and flip her over onto a flat surface.

Next, remove bObi Pet's dustbin. Grip the small tab on the back of the bin, and pull to remove.

Step 2: Remove the Front Wheel

Grip the front wheel and pull straight up, using the screwdriver for leverage.

The wheel will pop out and you will see two screws beneath it.

There is a larger screw set deeper in the wheel compartment. Use the screwdriver to remove it.

Remember to keep all screws and parts removed from bObi Pet safely aside during the repair. They may be needed for re-assembly.

Step 3: Remove the Dustbin's Holders

Remove the screws on both sides of bObi Pet’s dustbin. Then, remove the corner pieces that were held down by the screws.

Grip the brush compartment and pull down to reveal two screws on a red fastener.

Remove them with the screwdriver.

Step 4: Remove the Main Brush Compartment

Pull the brush compartment up until the fastener is freed from bObi Pet. Then, detach the brush compartment's circuit plug and set it aside.

Remove the four screws located beneath the brush compartment.

Step 5: Remove the Cover Screws

Remove the 2 screws on the dustbin’s red fastener.

Remove the fastener and set it aside for reassembly.

The cover is no longer secured, so carefully flip bObi Pet onto her wheels.

Step 6: Disconnect the Cover

Lift the cover to reveal the main board underneath.

Remove the two circuit plugs connecting the lid to the mainboard. (Highlighted Blue)

bObi Pet's cover is entirely separated, and you can start replacing the UV lamp.

Step 7: Unplug the UV Lamp

The UV lamp connects to bObi Pet’s left side.

Disconnect the small, red-and-black-wired circuit plug from the main board and break off any glue holding it in place.

Step 8: Remove the Circuit Board Cover

Remove the 2 screws on the black circuit board cover.

Then, lift the black cover up to expose the small circuit board for bObi Pet’s UV lamp.

Slide the circuit board up to remove.

Step 9: Remove the Lamp

Next, remove the 2 screws on the UV lamp.

Gently push the UV lamp out of its spot from underneath. Then, lift out the whole lamp, including the cover plate.

Step 10: Install the Replacement Lamp

Lay the replacement lamp in the empty space. Place the cover plate in first, then the lightbulb on top.

Once the lamp lies flat, install its 2 screws.

Step 11: Replace the Circuit Board

Slide the new circuit board down into its holder and replace the black cover.

Tuck the lamp’s wires through the indentations at the bottom of the cover.

Step 12: Secure the Circuit Board Cover

Reinstall the two screws on the circuit board cover.

Attach the lamp's circuit board to the cover and you're ready to start closing bObi Pet.

Step 13: Reconnect the Cover

Attach the 2 circuit plugs from bObi Pet's cover back onto her main board.

The yellow-wired plug connects to the right side of the mainboard. (Highlighted Blue)

The white-wired plug on bObi Pet’s lid connects to the center of the mainboard. (Highlighted Red)

Lay down bObi Pet's cover and line up the edges precisely.

While holding bObi Pet's top and bottom together, carefully flip her over onto a flat surface.

Step 14: Replace the Front Wheel

Reinstall the screw underneath the front wheel.

Then, place the front wheel on top and firmly push down to secure it.

Step 15: Install the Cover's Screws

Replace the dustbin’s red fastener and install its two screws.

Install the four screws in the space beneath the brush compartment.

Step 16: Reconnect the Main Brushes

Plug in the brush compartment.

Then, replace its red brush fastener and install the two screws.

Step 17: Replace the Dustbin Holders

Position the brush compartment back in its original place on bObi Pet.

Now reinsert the corner pieces on both sides of the dustbin, with the arms of the brush attachment linked.

Step 18: Replace the Dustbin

Ensure the rubber strip near bObi Pet's dustbin is not stuck underneath the brush compartment. Then, reinstall the 2 screws in each of the corner pieces.

Make sure the bin can slide in easily before using bObi Pet again.
