Introduction: Simple Double Chocolate Oat Cookies

Simple delicious recipe for double chocolate chip cookies.

Easy to make, and can be ready in about 25 mins!

Step 1: Step 1: Ingredients & Equipment

Ingredients

115g / 1/2 cup - Unsalted butter

115g / 1/2 cup - Light brown sugar

1 Egg

150g / 1 1/4 cups - Self raising flour

75g / 3/4 cup - Porridge oats

100g - Dark Chocolate, roughly chopped

100g - White Chocolate, roughly chopped

Optionals

100g - Raisins/Cranberries/Cherries

Equipment

Bowl

Mixer/whisk

Spoon

Scales

Baking tray

Step 2: Step 2: Mix

Preheat oven to 190C/375 F or gas mark 5 and lightly grease 2 baking trays.

Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Beat in egg and Vanilla essence

Fold flour into mixture, and add oats and chocolates and mix well.

Step 3: Step 3: Bake

Using two spoons place blobs of mixture onto the greased baking trays, leaving room for spreading.

Bake in centre of oven for 15 - 20 mins.

And if you fancy cooking some another time, you can always freeze some of the mixture for later, this way you can always have freshly baked cookies with little to no hassle.

Just put the cookie dough into some cling film and tightly rap it around and place im freezer.

Defrost in fridge for a few hours for when needed.

Step 4: Step 4: Eat & Enjoy

Once out of the oven, leave to cool for a few mins, then grab yourself a cookie take a bite and enjoy the chocolatey oaty goodness!

A glass of milk on the side always goes down well too.
