Introduction: Simple Garden Chair From Old Bicycle

Used parts off a old bicycle to create this chair, a length of 70mm treated wood and a few bolts/screws.

Step 1: Bike

I used the pink & purple bike at the font of the image.

Step 2: Rims and Legs

Removed the rims, simply loosened the nuts and the wheel was removed. Removed the threaded bar through the center of the rim, remove nuts.

Release air from tube, tube was removed by hand but a screwdriver for leverage would help.

Cut legs to desired length.

Step 3: Chair

M6 40mm bolts with nyloc nuts were used, ideally longer bolts would of been used as I had no room for washers.

Drill a 6mm hole on each rim, drill hole in leg so top is flush with rim, bottom hole far up enough bottom of rim is of the ground.

Same again for other legs

Step 4: Back and Finishing

Two longer strips were used for the back of the chair, the gap seems large but sitting back feels fine.

Mud guards were used on the sides.

Front and rear reflectors were screwed to the tops of the back.
