Introduction: Slithering Snake Paracord Bracelet

About: I enjoy making things and spending time in the great outdoors.

Do you like going camping, hiking, or fishing? Or do you just like a nice looking bracelet? Either or this bracelet would be perfect for you. If you are ever out in the wilderness or out on the water and you need rope you can just unravel this bracelet and you have rope. This is an awesome survival bracelet that holds a lot of cordage.

You can remove the seven inner strands to create fishing line, you can unravel the cord and use it as a shoelace, you can unravel it and use the rope to tie up your gear, or you can do just about anything with it.

Step 1: Gather Materials

Materials:

  • Two 3 foot lengths of paracord
  • One piece of paracord wrapped around your wrist twice, plus about 4 inches
  • A knife or sharp scissors
  • A lighter

Step 2: Tying the Shortest Cord

Fold the shortest cord in half and tie a double overhand knot at the end.

Step 3: Preparing the Long Cord

Burn the two longer cords together to create an even longer cord.

Step 4: Setting Up for the Weave

Lay the shorter cord over the longer one.

Step 5: The Weave

Start by pulling the cord that you want to snake up and down over the two shorter cords, in this case I used the blue cord. Second, you'll want to pull the other end of the longer cord underneath the one you pulled over the top. Now, you slip the end of the one you just pulled under through the hole marked in the second picture and pull it tight.

Step 6: Keep on Tying

Now, you just keep repeating that same exact knot from step 5. You keep on going until you get to the end or there is not enough cord to tie another knot.

Step 7: Finishing the Weave

When you get to the end, pull the cord over the other one, up through the little hole, and then pull it tight. I don't believe it matters which cord you do it with.

Step 8: Snip and Burn

Snip off the excess cord and burn it to keep it from fraying.

Step 9: Different Ways to Wear

The bracelet is now complete. You can either have it scrunched up like the first picture or spaced out like the second. I, personally like the second one the one that is spaced out.
