Introduction: Slow Cat Feeder

About: I am from Thessaloniki Greece! I love the world of electronics in every step of my life! I am electronic engineer and my hobby is my job!The summer of 2014 i'm raedy to begin my own company oramasolutions aft…

This project is if your cat is greedy enough!

For my cat i had success from the first try!

Some cheap shelf mounts, a piece of mdf wood, standard 75mm pvc pipe and some bolts and screws are needed to complete the project as you can see from images.

With this feeder i managed to slow down the speed of eating to 30 minutes.

Step 1: Prepare the Pipe

You can found everywhere an 75mm diameter pvc pipe. It used to guide waters.

I made some holes 10mm for the food and 7mm to attach some bolts.

Step 2: Attach the Bolts

These bolts helps the cat to spin the feeder.

They are also help for a weight step while spinning.

They give more weight to the feeder.

Step 3: Attach the Caps

This is why i love my 3d printer. if you have one you can download and print the caps.

If not, be creative and make your own caps.

I design the spining holes on 6.5mm diameter.

Step 4: Prepare the Spinning Table

a piece of mdf wood is just enough to mount the shelf holders.

I have cut the rest of the holders.

2 x M4 bolts are used for spinning the pipe.

Step 5: Add Food and Feed Your Cat!

Cats are really intelligent animals.

My cat was able to spin the pipe from first try!

I can add food for whole week without worrying about that my cat ate all its food from date one or tow.

This is a daily dose on the photo.
