The costume is going to be the more iconic version of Max's costume from "The Road Warrior". I have already made the costume from the first movie. So, let's see how I made The Road Warrior: Max's Jacket!

So I actually finished this (jacket and instructable) last October for halloween. I just never got around to taking pictures in the costume, and forgot about it. So, almost a year after it was finished. Here is the Instructable I promised back in April of 2015!

Step 1: Jacket

The first thing I did was take the jacket I already had for the previous costume and edit it. Max's jacket has a missing sleeve due to a broken arm in the previous film. So just cut the sleeve off! I then took an old red shirt and cut a piece of fabric off and made a little tie on the jacket. I then superglued the tie into the rest of the sleeve. I wanted to improve the badge from my last version, so I took a piece of cardboard and put silver duct tape around it. I took one of those binder things and poked it through into the jacket.

Step 2: Shoulder Pad (Part 1)

The first step for the shoulder pad is to draw out the shape onto a piece of paper. The length should go from right above the nipple to the shoulder blade. Cut out the paper and trace it onto a bathroom shower mat. Once you start cutting it, the furry part should come off in one piece. Next, take a black tank top and cut it so that it is one large piece of fabric. Take the foam pad and put it on top of the fabric do that the lip in the middle is facing to the right. Glue the rest of the fabric to the bottom. If you want to go with full detail, you can sew a white pattern around the outline about an inch in. Take the pad and put it on the jacket. Use the binder dividers and attach it to the jacket.

Step 3: Shoulder Pad (Part 2)

Now for the main pad. First, take a large black Frisbee and cut it into the right shape. Take a piece of cardboard and cut into the shape of the upper part of the pad. Paint them both black. Now, use a belt and attach the frisbee onto the first pad using glue. Use a blow dryer to heat up the frisbee and bend it into the shape of the pad. Glue the upper part on and you're done. Now, it would be a lot easier to use old football pads and attach that to the jacket. But I simply didn't have any so I had to do this. I later went in and added zip ties to secure the pad.

Step 4: "And the Road Warrior? That Was the Last We Ever Saw of Him. He Lives Now... Only in My Memories.

To finish the jacket, spray paint parts of it brown and other dirt colors. I had to adjust the size of mine in the back because it was too big.
