Introduction: Velcro Cord Wrap

About: I am a retired old geezer with way too much time on my hands for my own good.

Did you ever get tired of untangling cords in you computer accessory bag or whatever? Have you got things like this laying around on the shelf or on the desk? Tired of loosing wire ties and twist ties when you pack up your stuff?  Well here is the answer to your problems.

Step 1: Materials

Scissors and sticky back Velcro. I got my Velcro from Walmart's sewing section.

Step 2: Measure How Long It Needs to Be.

Coil up the cord like you want it and measure about 1 1/2 wrap around it then add 2/3 more and cut it. It doesn't matter which half of the Velcro you use. You can use the other half on the next cord. It will even out. once you finish the first one you will want one on every cord you have.

Step 3: Step 1

Remove the backing and lay the piece you cut on the table sticky side up. Lay the cord across the sticky side 1/3 of the way from the end. Then fold over the short side on to the long side. be careful to get it rite. Once it touches it is there to stay.  You will have half the sticky side showing.

Step 4: Step 2

Now cut a piece off of the other piece of Velcro long enough to cover the remaining sticky side PLUS 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

Apply it to the sticky side then turn it over and bend back the remaining sticky side half way and stick it to itself.  This gives you a tab to grab so you don't get the top piece and after a while, pull them apart.

Step 5: Finished

Now coil your cord and wrap it up in place. When you uncoil it you won't loose the Velcro strap and everything stays coiled up and no more tangles.
