Introduction: Wearable Media Player in 20 Minutes

About: Agent 005 of the Graffiti Research Lab

This is a quick way to embed a media player into your favorite article of clothing. Play mp3s, view videos, and read .txt documents in any article of clothing for $60.

Step 1: MATERIALS / PARTS LIST

(1) Agio UW-F029 wristwatch media player: $60, $75, $80
(1) Article of clothing (anything not too thick will work)
(1) Used anti-static bag.

Step 2: REMOVE GRAPHICS / BRANDING (optional)

Because I wasn't feeling the graphic design on the watch I decided to scratch it all off with a knife. If you do it carefully (more carefully then I did) it turns clear and reveals some of the guts.

Step 3: VOID WARRANTY

Unscrew the four screws on the back side and remove the back cover. Take the watch band and store it in a safe place in case you ever want to turn this thing back into a wristwatch at some point.

Step 4: CUT STATIC FREE PLASTIC

Using the watch base as a guide cut a piece of the static free bag leaving enough room to completely cover the unit.

Step 5: POSITION ON GARMENT

Pick a location to install the media player. Once in place create four holes large enough for the screws to fit through. I used a mechanical pencil to mark the points and then made the holes with something similar to a nail.

Step 6: EVERYTHING IN PLACE

Position the static free plastic on the top of the four holes in the garment and stick the screws through from the backside.

Step 7: SCREW IT ALL TOGETHER

Place the media player over the proper screws and screw it in place. Your done. I did it in a vest because that's what I've been wearing lately but it could work equally well in sweatshirts, coats, hats, socks, underwear, etc.
