My mother hates two things: mice and trash. So I thought it would be a good idea to make something cute involving both.

Sometimes you have a small mouse and you throw it to the garbage. But, using some wire, superglue, a magnet and imagination, you can make beautiful mice that will decorate your fridge.

Feliz Cumpleaños Lucia Langer! Madre, estoy muy orgulloso de ti. Eres la mejor!!! :-)
Happy Birthday Lucia Langer! Mother, I'm so proud of you. You are the best!!! :-)

Step 1: Materials

I used the following stuff:

1 Dead Verbatim mini-mouse
1 Magnet
1 Red flat cable
1 Red wire
2 Screws
2 Iron washers
1 Red plastic half ball (for the nose. i get one from the iTop i used on my last project)
Superglue (cyanoacrylate)

TOOLS

Dremel Rotary Tool
Screwdiver
Scissors
Pencil

And don't forget:

1. If you don't have it, replace it!
2. Use protective equipment (dust mask and goggles).
3. Beware of drilled and soldered hot surfaces.
4. Work in a good ventilated area.
5. Always have junk in stock.
6. Have fun.

Step 2: Preparing the Mouse

Open the mouse using the screwdriver. Remove the circuits. Glue the wheel to the mouse.

Step 3: Ears

Cut ONLY ONE of the flat cable conectors. Make the two ears bending the cable. Cut the remainder.

Glue the cable to the top of the mouse and make the ears.

Step 4: Tail

Take the rest of the red flat cable. glue the conector inside the mouse. The tail will go out on the same hole of the original cable.

Close the mouse. Make undulations on the tail.

Step 5: Eyes

Find a good position for the eyes. Make two holes and insert the washers and the screws.

Step 6: Magnet

Put the mouse over the magnetic plate and mark the shape on the magnet. Glue the magnet to the bottom of the mouse.

Step 7: Nose and Mustache

Take the red half ball. Make a groove with the Dremel. Glue the red wires on the center. Wait a few seconds a glue the nose to the mouse.

Now, stick the mouse to the fridge or in your favorite metallic surface!
