Introduction: Gadget Charge Station

Christmas has been and gone, the gadgets quota has increased.
Every spare power socket has a phone, tablet or e-reader connected to it.
I had to come up with a solution that would free up power sockets.
So here it is.

Step 1: The Bits

I cut out  1/4" Hardboard (6mm) MDF sides and front using a jigsaw.
the base and socket back plate were 3/4" hardboard (18mm) MDF.
The socket back plate Patress box hole was cut out and the edges planed at 30 and 60 degrees.

Step 2: The Build

The sides, base and front were glued and stapled together.
The sockets were wired, and the unit was sealed.

Step 3: The Paint Job

The unit was painted with a base coat, when dried a top grain coat was added.
The unit needs a couple of tweaks, some padding on the edges and a couple of cable slots cut into the rails.
A multi lead connector was added with a high rated USB plug.

Step 4: Job Done

This has freed up loads of power sockets, it's visible and used by everyone in the house.
