If you live in the midwest, you can go to a local Vintage Stock (a store that sells old games, comics, music, etc.) and they would have plenty of old games. But beware, the people there are quite unique in a strange way.
hey zachariah i was wondering if you have made a gamecube portable possibly after you made this one? because i want to make a gcp but i dont know if the case for this n64 would be ok for a gamecube portable... what do you think? and where did you get all the information toi build with? benheck?
Oh ya those are great because they can run every single n64 game at full speed with absolutly no problems!
P.S. That was sarcasm. P.S.S. Everyone has a droid or iPod these days that can emulate n64 games. P.S.S.S. Making this takes true skill. Anyone can press a button on a phone.
yeah, that's not a N64, you run an emulator...durr... he made a classic console ingeniously into a portable, which Nintendo should have done a long time ago!!!
iv been preparing for my own attempt im thinking of integrating a gameshark with 4 controller inputs and a A/V out in a 1/8th plug. i have even done a sketchup model my only problem now is finding a good screen and finding the time
I have made one myself. They do not take that much time if you are dedicated to the task. I used an old portable dvd player that did not work all too well (reading disc wise) and then i took the dvd player and refitted it to allow n64 games to come from the top of the casing and i put a power switch on the side. problem: only 4 hrs before it dies but i am about ready to install a portable charger outlet on one to allow me to charge it in a car bc i was an idiot and forgot to keep the charger car charger from the dvd player attached. btw 400 in my opinion is ripping yourself off BUT you are a good guy :) Your system also looks much better than mine. what do you use for the casing?
do you think it would be possible to use the hardware in an SNES system to do the same thing? let me know what you think please.
He really is a good guy. And extremely talented too! But to answer your question, he said he used an 8x5x1 Plano Large Fly Fishing Box for his case, he ripped out the compartments and everything, and scrubbed the residue off for hours til it was good and clean. I myself am going to try this bad boy out when i get all the equipment i need, ive been researching for weeks now, and im pretty sure ive got a good foundation. im gonna try to make it exactly like his Grape 64 because it looks extremely impressive. Its rare to find portable n64s even worth looking at lol xD im in LOVE with this one. Zacariah...mad kudos to you.
Oh my dear God... I'm actually 100% serious. I would like one of these SO MUCH. Pleeease get back to me soon. I'm willing to wait a month, and to pay the $400.! Thanks. -Kacie.
Ahhh this is brilliant. What is the process involved in making the plastic shells for these kind of things? I literally have no idea. Seriously epic finish on it though man, congratulations.
Good sah! i do declare this is one of the most marvelous contraptions i have ever had the privellege of laying eyes on! i would very much appreciate it if you could contact me at: shankeo01@gmail.com about purchase of one of these devices! i have cash, but prefer paypal.
Maybe a slot for a n64 transfer pak or a rumble pak also

I just want instructables to get a tad more credit. or else it'll become a link dump.
I mean there's only one step...
My HTC can't even handle running it's own OS!
