Introduction: Halloween Welcome Sign

About: I like making little treats and pretty much doing anything crafty. I want to learn new techniques and share how I do what I do. Edit - I took a break for awhile but I'm ready to get back into sharing my work …

This is a simple piece of poster -sized paper that has been painted up to add some flare to your Halloween party.

Step 1: Materials Needed

Super Simple.
All you need is:

Poster-sized piece of paper

Black Acrylic Paint
White Acrylic Paint
Glow in the Dark Paint (Optional)

Sea Sponge or any Textured Material.

Paintbrushes

Step 2: Method

Paint the entire sheet of paper black and allow to dry. (If you are in a time crunch you could spray paint black, just take outdoors to do so)

Then, mix some white with a little black to get a grey paint.

Dip your sponge in the gray paint and dab it all over the paper in no ordinary fashion it just has to make sure to be consistent. (at this point you can layer different grey colors if you like to give it even more texture!)

Step 3: Line Work

Use a detailing paint brush to draw fun filigree around the edges

Paint a gargoyle or a raven in the corners

Draw a few cracks across the piece.

Then space out how you will write your welcome message in the center.

For an added effect, you can trace over parts with some glow in the dark paint.

Let dry completely. Then just use some tape or sticky tac to adhere to your door or wall as part of your party decor!

Have a safe and fun Halloween!
