Hangout Bedroom With Snack Bar and Study Space!

I decided to design a bedroom on Google Sketchup that would fulfill the ability to be an entertaining hangout, a good place to unwind, still having a spot to do work and study in. Featuring a bed setup, snack bar, study desk, an entertainment area, and hard wood walls and ceiling, this is one room design that I believe would be an ideal rendezvous for you and your friends, and a great area for solitary relaxation as well!

Step 1: Bed Setup

    This is a unique sleeping setup, allowing for maximum storage. Leading up to the bed platform are carpeted stairs. The bed is made of a hardwood frame with space underneath for shoes or slippers, and built in drawers for clothes, so there isn't a dresser taking up space. Connected to the bed frame is a counter-type bedside table with a cup holder for a drink, and more drawers. The fish tank is just an example of something that could go on top.
    The picture is a bit far away, but on the far wall there is an outlet next to the bed, making it easy to plug in a laptop, charge your phone, plug in an alarm clock, etc. Lastly, a window runs along the wall on the right down the length of the wall. 

Step 2: Snack Bar

    This part of the room is what I found most exciting to make! A snack/juice bar is ideal for having small parties or gatherings. Featuring a stone counter, refrigerator, sink, soda fountain, bar stools, and shelving, this is a simple design, good for serving and storage space. Guests can get their own drinks, then sit and chat. Plus, it would be easy enough to put snack food up on the counter for people to take! 

Step 3: Entertainment Area

The entertainment area is a space for chilling, chatting, watching TV, playing video games, playing board games, having study sessions, and really anything else that one can think to do with a TV, coffee table, carpet, and a couch! Space under the coffee table allows for - wait for it - MORE storage. Surprise! But there can never be too much storage space, especially if your in high school or college :)

Step 4: Study Corner

The study corner is a simple computer desk with a computer chair and adequate space for homework doing, and studying in solitude. Not much else to say!

Step 5: Lighting

The lighting is made up of a series of ceiling lights everywhere across the ceiling, 4X3. So there are eight lights on the higher part of the ceiling and four on the lower. By the door there would be dimming controls for each row of 4 lights.
