Step 4: Brown the meat.

Take the pound of ground meat and put it into a large frying pan.
Turn on to medium heat.
I throw the whole blob in the pan and do not worry about making patties.
You can split the meat into patties as it cooks (4 patties = 1/4 pound each). You can add spices to the meat at this point.
Keep browning till done.
You can use a meat thermometer to check for how done it is.
When finished cooking, turn off the heat and start on assembling the sandwich.
