I always loved hair bows, who wouldn't love such a cute accessory! But I've started to love'em even more (since last night!). My friend Mitasha showed me how to make a pretty hair bow easily, and from that moment on, I thought of making more hair bows with different patterns. I had a lot of satin laces and hair clips, so I couldn't wait and started to make (Thanks to Mitasha for helping!). I was soooo excited about these hair bows and couldn't wait to post it as an ible :D
Lets get started, I hope you enjoy making and wearing them :)
Step 1: Materials needed
1) Satin Laces (different size and colors)
2) Thread and hook,
4) White glue,
5) Hair clip (to attach the bow),
6) Ruler (to measure the length of laces),
7) Others (Crochet lace, pearl beads, beads etc.)
Step 2: Main technique (1 ribbon hair bow)
Here's how we make a simple one lace hair bow:-
First, you need to cut an amount of satin ribbon (not more than 10 inches, because I think small and medium hair bows look cuter than the large ones).
Fold the satin ribbon into half and glue the sides (I used white glue). Wait for glue to dry.
After the glue dries, take the folded satin ribbon and place the glued area in the bottom (middle) of the folded ribbon.
Now, fold the ribbon to make bow (start from one side by folding the ribbon up from the bottom) and press the middle of the bow.
Take a small amount of ribbon to tie a knot in the middle of the bow and glue or sew to make sure the knot doesn't come off.
There! done. I'm sure we all know how to make hair bow but I thought this technique is fun, easy and gives a quality look. :)
