Introduction: Simple Paper Flowers

About: Mother of two, one seven month old and one husband. I love to make things and to collaborate with other crafters.

This is a low cost solution to having beautiful flowers at hand for your home, grannies, postal service delivery persons, weddings, and so on. They are very easy to make and look amazing when completed!

Step 1: Everything You Need...

To begin all you really need is some paper, glue, and scissors. The floral tape and stem wire are optional. You can make your own stems out of things around the house or by rolling paper. The floral tape will help in adding completed flowers together to make bunches.

Step 2: Cut Out a Petal and Crumple.

Cut out a petal and crumple. Simple eh? The crumpling makes the paper more pliable. Then just shape the petal into the form of the center bloom.

Step 3: Add Glue.

Just add a small dab of glue to the bottom of the petal to hold the shape you want.

Step 4: Continue Adding Petals.

Add petals to create a flower that is as big and open or as small and budded as desired. You can be as creative as you want. Experiment and have fun with it!

Step 5: Creating the Outer Petals.

Pinch a little fold at the bottom of the paper to create a curved petal. Add as many as you feel are sufficient.

Step 6: Insert Stem.

Add a dab of glue to stem wire or what ever you want to use as the base and insert into the center bottom of bloom. And there you go! A beautiful flower!

Step 7: Creative Things for Finishing Touches.

Use floral tape and colored scrapbook paper to add leaves and to make into bunches. You can also hand paint the stems to make the bunches look even more realistic.

so pretty! I really like the little "vase" too. :) great job.

Yes but I think it could be more coloured. But I think it is great

Waoww! This is so amazing!

I failed miserably :(

I really cute idea would be to do them with book pages. and then dip the edges in some paint or water color. Can I do these for school competition? They are really easy to make, easiest and best instructions I've seen.

Wonderful instruction...glad I happened upon this.

Hey it looks so real, and procedure look so easy to follow. let me try it myself.

Thanks for sharing

WOw!!!!. its awesome,realistic,fantastic, BEATIFUL!!!!

now ihave a new craft to my list .

wow!!!!...awesoome,realistic,beautiful,fantastic!!!!

here is a new thin on my craft list

I use Aleen's Turbo Tacky Glue, it works fast so you can just keep adding your petals without stopping! And the coffee filters work great, I dip mine in water based paint thinned with water, tinted to whatever color I want to mix up! Also I buy the fake rose bunches at Walmart & remove the roses, replace them with mine & spray them with a favorite perfume! Thanks for this great Instructable! I've really enjoyed making & giving these roses. Here's 3 of the roses I've made.
