In a class at our college, most of the semester is spent designing and building a project that has a mechanical component, an electrical component and a software component on a budget of $250.
We wanted to make a smaller scale water curtain like this one although on a much smaller, simpler scale.

Step 1: Materials

For this project, we used
-8 gravity fed solenoid valves.
-PVC pipes and joints
-caulk/other waterproofing stuff
-tubs for water
-thick plastic
-tools

Still no video yet ?
They are up now! Sorry that took so long!
The videos are up!
This is so cool! The only problem is the cheepest valves I've found are like $20USD each!

What are you using for valves?

Also, if some enterprising person would design one for thingiverse, then you would be my personal hero!
valves4projects is great seller. good price & good support, and he have a good price for large orders

Yeah, the valves were really the most limiting item in our budget which is why we only were able to use 8. There is more information on the valves in step 3. We got them on ebay, haha.
Not sure if you've seen this but I'm currently building one of these for promotional purposes: http://www.finkbuilt.com/blog/diy-fog-screen/ It's a slightly similar design except the water is sprayed out in a mist-like formation, which creates a semi permeable viewing screen.

Anyway, great team work!
oh that's awesome!
Does it work then?
(video?)

L
Video soon! It does work!
I see no reason it SHOULDN'T work, but I agree, I'd like to see a video.

Also...

I WANT ONE!

:-)
Yes! It works! There will be video soon!
What! No Video?
Yes it works! We just haven't taken a video yet! Stay tuned, sometime in the next few days!
What college?
