I used a Tesla Coil calculator to figure out the optimal specs based on the hardware I used, unfortunately I don't remember the name of the calculator.
The capacitor polarity doesn't matter for this project, just make sure all capacitors are oriented the same way
There are 3 equations. The first equation provides the secondary voltage, but you will first need to solve for the other 2 equations.Vsecondary = Vprimary * sqrt( Cprimary/Csecondary)Csecondary = the top load + parasitic C from the secondary windingCprimary = C from capacitor arrayThe cost was around $1000
