The cold oil helps the warm agar agar droplets to cool down and set. Thanks for the question!

Thanks a bunch! Soak the tube in water for thirty minutes and it should be easy to tear it into small pieces. Good question!

Did you read the instructable? I used techniques that are quite prominent in the world of molecular gastronomy. Spherification, making gels, and sugar works are known techniques that chefs use to transform meals using science.Check this out for more information:https://www.gourmetfoodworld.com/molecular-gastronomy-techniques-15249
Here’s the science:Gels:https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/bring-science-home-gooey-gels/Spherification:http://scienceandcooking.seas.harvard.edu/Spherification.htmlSugar works:https://www.exploratorium.edu/cooking/candy/sugar-stages.htmlHere is also the contest description and request for entries as listed by Instructables:“Put on your lab coat and make some Instructables that employ scientific processes and principles to create culinary wonders. For inspiration, check out the topic of molecular gastronomy. We want to see projects that employ things like vacuums, flash freezing, distillation, infusion, emulsification, and crystallization (to name a few possibilities).” I believe my entry meets the contest description 100 percent.
Thank you for your interest.
View Instructable »Lol When I transformed this meal, I was wondering about how much of our food experiences are based on perceptions or preformed ideas. If a Happy Meal doesn’t look like a Happy Meal, would we interpret it differently? Now, I did do some things that would make it taste differently, but it is interesting to think about. Thanks for looking!

Very nice. Looks great! I practice “lasagna gardening” in my raised bed and it helps me get rid of leaves that have fallen off the tree. I also put food scraps in there and I now have onions growing from the food scraps. LolI love your project!

https://www.tangeroutlet.com/fortworth/store/kitchen-collection-outlet-stores/56Good question. I bought that mold at a kitchenware retailer near my home for $5. I have linked to it above. However, I have seen some others online: https://www.newfrog.com/product/4-holes-diy-ice-cream-maker-silicone-cake-ice-ball-mold-round-ball-ice-cube-tray-maker-mould-kitchen-bar-accessaries-tool-185188#group=animal&photo=0The mold that I have created spheres that are approximately 2.5 inches in diameter. Just be sure to buy one that is rated for high temperatures. I hope this info is helpful.

View Instructable »Thank you! I got a new mold and then I made up a recipe. After I saw it, I named it because it reminded me of the Earth. My degrees are in biology so there’s always a chance a little science will pop up in my projects. Lol!

Hi Penelopy,Thank you for your question and nice comment. I just made the necklace today so it has only been about 5 hours. I used the plant Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) which is actually a weed, although I think it is pretty. It should do okay because it can survive in less than ideal conditions. I attached a picture of one that is growing in the sidewalk down the street.I will be reporting back here after a couple of days to show it’s progress. Keep your fingers crossed. Thanks again!

Thank you! That’s a great question! I open mine daily to wipe down the condensation from the glass. I also checked to see if the paper was still moist.
