Monster in a Box, Haunted House Halloween Prop
Ok thanks for getting back to me I found someone who used a window wiper motor. So I might try and get one of those
I wish I could tell you the specs. I found the motor in a box of spare parts I had laying around and I'm not sure where it came from. There were no markings on it that I can remember. It is an AC motor and I would guess around 10-15 rpm.
would love to make this were did you get the motor ? and whats the spec of it im in the uk so i will need to find something similar

Great job! Way to perfect it ;-) The snap clamps are expensive and you really need the aluminum ones in order for them to hold well. We ended up using plastic zip ties and they worked but you have to poke holes in the plastic.Very cool, thanks for sharing.
A few other things...the doorway was a bit of a challenge with the sheeting. If I built this again from scratch I'd make the doorway a bit shorter and recessed. Also, the vortex does not take much fog at all. The first test, I was thinking we needed to fill the whole tunnel with fog. The laser beam disappeared within 10 feet. After clearing it out quite a bit the laser reached to the other end of the tunnel. Just a few seconds of fog burst and a few minutes of patience and you should be good to go.
We made this for the haunted timber we have with our neighbors and the instructions are spot on. We did not build the entrance up like DIYhaunter did but I'd say the cost estimate is just a bit more (those snap clamps are expensive!). For whatever reason the PVC joints were a bit tight so we actually had to shave the inside with a drill press and a giant bit so we could get the pipe to seat all the way into the joints. We did not do the guy wires because we had some conveniently placed trees and scrap boards that shored it up very nicely: see photo #3.We built the actual laser component for around $15, $12 of which was the cheap laser we bought off ebay. The mirror we peeled out of one of my makeup compacts. The laser vortex was WAY cooler than I was expecting. Our event is over and I don't want to tear it down! Thanks, DIYhaunter, for your innovation and great instructions.
