I recently started a new job, so I am sorry I have not been updating this page as frequently! I'll be back at it once I get settled in at work.
PIR motion activated, Raspberry Pi Twitter security camera is in the works! Testing the individual components before putting all the code together. So far I have successfully completed python code to send text tweets from the command line as well as code to trigger the camera to take a photo and upload it to a twitter account automatically. I am working with RPi.GPIO and wiringPi to determine which is best for my project. Currently it looks like I will go with wiringPi since it does not present as many hang ups with requiring root permissions.
Ok, I lied. The dead drop will have to wait, I forgot I no longer have my monitor with an HDMI input. On the bright side, I created another quick project that I'll have a tutorial for by the end of the day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkpJ6r6URJ0
Now that I have my sound reactive LED tutorial published, I'm turning my attention to a new project. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to learn how to turn a Raspberry Pi into a bluetooth dead drop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_drop). The plan is to complete the project and post a completed tutorial all before the end of the day tomorrow!
Sorry for going dark on everyone for the past two months, the first month I spent studying for a CompTIA Security+ Certification (took the test and passed!) and the second month I was caught up in filling out job applications as well as prepping for a few interviews. I plan on getting back to creating instructables shortly so please sit tight!
