Love MY instructables? Really? Ha, I thought they sucked... There's about 4 or 5 in the works, and about 8 more that I'd like to make on top of that... Thanks!

hi. I've had a look and and your computer has around 500Mhz processor and up to 256mb (probably 128) RAM, so it's pretty slow but should be able to run Linux pretty well. ;)

Also how do you (if you do) connect to the internet from this computer? some distros. are rather hard for networking.

A live CD (it boots from the CD, no install necessary if you only want to see what it's like) would be very slow, but you also get straight install CD's

I would recommend this one: http://www.pcbypaul.com/absolute/

There's a very popular very lightweight distro. "DSL" http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/

Or if you want a little more eye candy you can try Mepis: http://www.pcbypaul.com/absolute/ though it will run slower than the other two mentioned. ;)

-whatever you do your computer will not become toast. ;) the very worst you just loose all the current data on the hard drive. =) (I do have gtalk, but not AIM. :| )

Ok, thanks. Oh, and I don't have internet from that computer. I like the look of the first one, so I'll probably try it first. We are taking the computer to get fixed later on today, so I'll update you whenever I install it.
