well, I am german and I never heard of this version as well...but hey, this one sounds yum and I will give it a try...and yes, german pancakes are slightly thicker crepes, the dough is almost the same (sometimes it's more eggs, sometimes you add sparkling water to the dough to make it more fluffy, but that is just depending on the region in germany and doesn't make a huge difference) as crepes dough
