Worked perfect for us!! What a great cheap fix! Spent $8. Thanks for posting this!! - MarissaK5
Thanks for the write-up it was very helpful. I did discover that the direction of the diode is important. I put it together randomly the first time and the swing was very weak, took it apart, flipped the diode around and it works like new, so be sure to put the diode back with the stripe facing the same way on the new motor. - jmspen
Worked great! For those having problems putting everything back together or have a different model swing, I recommend taking pictures as you disassemble so you can use them as reference when assembling. Also, keep in mind that if you heat up the capacitor, the diode, and the motor for too long while desoldering or soldering, the heat may damage them.
This works great! If you do not know what terminal to connect the wires to, the positive side has a indentation next to the terminal. My motor has a plus sign in the indentation.
