Seems like an interesting concept, but I don't understand what the 'flaps' should do. Also a red connector with a white connector on the back will reverse in mid air.

Nah hij is eerder gemaakt vanwege de nieuwe trigger, deze is beter dan de trigger op de dragonfly/blockhead. Om een kruisboog met belachelijke range te krijgen heb ik wel ideeen =d

De kruisboog die ik als plaatje heb moet ik nog posten.
Ik vind geweren niet zo leuk om te maken, er is te weinig ruimte voor veranderingen. Ik had al een paar keer een poging gedaan, maar ik zal het later nog wel es proberen ^^

Its the same as on the dragonfly, but reinforced. If you have ductaped the part shown in the instructions; its not gonna fail. I used it on a cannon that had 6x5 (30)thick rubberbands on it, no problem.

It was one massive rectangle with an open top, when loaded it would fold inwards(but it did stay in one piece) ^^'

The Blockhead has my preference (and is also the latest) if you have enough pieces to build it, the odd shape makes it easier to reload and it releases arrows with more force. Also I haven't tried out how many rubberbands it can actually take, but it seems sturdy as hell; I used 4x4 rubberbands and it didn't even move/bend. (Maybe 8 strings of 4 rubberbands long, 2 on each wheel and ductaped arrow, otherwise it rips the connector off o.o.) The trigger on the Blockhead is also way nicer and actually feels like a trigger(Took me hours to make lol). To put it short, the Blockhead has the same stuff as the Reaper, but all improved.
why dont you post something other than bows? like a slingshot sniper, or rifle?

Why do i feel when i added a 2nd chain of 5 rubberbands, it doesn't shoot as far as single chain of bands? Its more tension but close-range it sounds like single is a lot louder than 2 chains :( I tooked your first crossbow at the bottom there, and just added support so it can do 2 chains with no bending

Sorry fer double post. I modded the arrow a bit, it is just a standard arrow (red rod with red connector with grey connector). I added two heavy weight ball bearings to the front (very small) but they really add weight, I then blue tacked them in and now the front of the arrow is really strong and heavy, and most importantly, potentially lethal :-).

My reaper went through one 0.5 cm of chip board and then smashed through the lid of my Knex tub (it isn't an actual Knex tub, but hey). It has 4 rubber band strings on, 2 very strong ones with 4 on each, and 2 very thin ones with 5 on each. Totalling to 18 elastic bands! Damn I could probably kill something :S.
here's my crossbow cannon. all that is left to do is finish the trigger system. 3rd pic is ammo.

You could try multiple things with a crossbow/cannon that sturdy...like try adding 2 rubberband strings per wheel, if it works it would increase the power. I take it the ammo slides along the rail that I see in the first pic, I don't think designing a trigger system would for it would be too hard. Although I am a little concerned about the friction the ammo has though. Wish I had that many pieces :P I seriously think you should post it as an Instructable and to get people anticipating for it, you could make a forum topic :P But also, have you been able to fire it yet? Or at least tell me how the shooting part works out when you're done :D
Well, I've fired it a bit, But only with one string. It will have 4 or more in the end. And with the friction, well, there in not much i can do about that. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it will matter that much though, seeing the power put into it, and the momentum of the missile. I will send you more pics and a video when its done. and also I might make it even longer. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for the enthusiasm, its really helping me along :-p

Here is Some pictures of the stand and trigger. The stand can pivot up and down, and holds 4 missiles. the trigger is going to be true (yay!). The second picture is of the gun loaded (with only 1 string still) :-(

Just an update, The gun is finished and instructions are on the way.
No, these are not the strings I used on the reaper. These are much thicker. I think they will work fine, I replaced the small wheeles on the bow with large ones, and thats the only place I think i could have much trouble.
I just finished the stand for the crossbow, and the trigger system in pretty well done. All that is left is stock :-)

And if i try to reply, whilst not logging in, it will ask if i want to log in, i've done that and typed the whole comment and if i press post comment, it will log me out and will not post the comment. This is pretty weird :P
We're having some caching problems. If you see this again, try doing a hard reload (shift + reload).
