I am interested in making a fiberglass tube, I know fiberglass isn't carbon fiber but they are worked in the same way.My question for you is, can you make an 'ible on making a fiberglass tube?I'm wanting to make one using a metal pipe as a mandrel and I'll be using it for a rocket.I have only simple tools.

Hey this is interesting....do you think you could cut the into 1 inch squares and tell us how much the 30/70 sample weighs?also I couldn't tell how thick it was, any measurements on that?Good work and nice tests. Keep it up!
Just an update: I've painted my rocket and turned a nice oak nose cone for it, I hope it flies nice and true.

I make slings all the time! your instructable is pretty good, I've used basicly the same method for making jute and cotton slings.if your interested, I wrote an instructable my self on a different (lighter/pocket size) sling. I like how you tapered yours on the release end, I will have to try that sometime. I noticed you used 325 cord for the main braid, have you used regular 550 cord before?
Do this plane can do a 180 turn without banking in a half circle? This plane looks really nice, it must be an eye catcher when it's flying.
All of this is true, however-- I was trying to make this as low key, affordable, and easy as possible. I would have kept a cup of water with me, but I had no problems going slow and taking my time to prevent over heating. After throwing this at wood, rock, dirt, dropping it on concrete, and other random abuse. I can say there is not really a need for heat treatment processes to be done. For unknown reasons, this mystery steel has survived my testing. If you are an over achiever, and would like to go as far as heat treating your steel, feel free to get what ever kind of steel you would like to use for this project. My instructable's purpose is simply to lay the groundwork for anyone interested in making the bo-shuriken. Thank you for your response, and happy throwing!

I have experimented with different length to BB ratios but for the size of straws and weight of the BBS I found the size in the instructable to be best suited for convienent purposes. For instance, 9 is divided evenly by 3 so we use the entire straw that is 9 inches long. When I have time I'll experiment some more. Your thought on using different liquids is intriguing, I will have to try that. Maybe it would make a good density experiment that uses a solid in a liquid, and not just a liquid on a liquid? Thank you for taking the time to comment, I like hearing others ideas.
That's the book I got the information from, it's a great book.
did you know this is how reinforced concrete was fist made? someone decided to try concrete in place of clay but they broke easy, so he used steel wire to hold it together better.Turns out, steel and concrete auctually bond to get as well.Looks great!
I really like this, I'm going to try to make one out of wood and give it a good finish. I think that if I make the square into a rectangle I can make it fit one way in each hole. Either way, this old dog of a toy just learned some new tricks. Thank you!
