the kind of interaction can be seen in the gif in the last step. by pushing and pulling the pins people are able to leave "drawings" or messages. there is no control over what happens besides turning the light function on and off. true, there are steps left out. but for the sake of allowing people to get an understanding of the overall process and production and not get too bogged down by the details I left smaller steps out.

thanks! the LED strips are all one color, white. the tone of the plywood and maple make the light look yellow. the reddish light is achieved by painting the backs of the wooden pinheads red. when the light hits these painted pins they emit a reddish color!
