a sear system is a system in which the firing pin or bolt is caught by the sear, when pulled back. the firing catches and locks onto the sear. the trigger isn't connected to the sear but is close enough to push the sear in a direction that releases the firing pin or bolt. Sear systems are usually in paintball guns and automatic machine guns.
