Thanks for your interest. Construction is not difficult; remember to reduce friction whenever possible. That means verifying that turbine axle is properly centered & turns freely in bearings w/minimal vibration. Secondly, distance between the metal surface of the turbine & the electrodes must be as small as possible. I used 2 sheets of printer paper as a gauge. Project was designed & built on the cheap; cost should be less than $20. The power source was a room air ionizer. You can find small units at yard sales for a few dollars. The spin of the turbine is a reaction to the spray of charged particles or ions from the electrode vanes. The turbine won't spin if exposed to an electrically neutral wind produced by mounting it to a moving bike.Good Luck!
Hey man awesome work, this is a great design. I just have a few questions...1. How hard is it to build?2. What is the total cost of everything, including a charger.3. Also if I were to hook this up to my bike what would be the effect? How fast would it go and how long would it last?
