the ceiling storage solution captured my eye while browsing, and that was well worth the read, awesome!!
alternately, for bolts and bits, i use jars where the lid is attached to the ceiling with a couple of screws!

Cool, the jars on the ceiling/underside of a shelf thing is a classic for sure (I've got a bunch of those myself!)
