IN your "Make a website" instructable there are two things that i think you should add. 1. Quackit.com: a great site that makes it really easy to learn html, php, coldfusion, and databasing. 2. byethost.com: amazing free host, 5.5 gigs of space, 25 gigs of bandwidth per month, large 8 meg file size limit, i found that its better than most paid hosts.
hey, im working on a chain gun, no, im not copying KILLERK's gun, im just saying that im working on a prototype chain gun. there will be no fireing pin built into the gun, and probobly no trigger either, but, like i said, it's a prototype. it will probobly work like the first machineguns, when you crank a wheel, it fires. the idea i have is like a mini- gatling gun, but each barrel will be put on a chain, thus, a chain gun the only problems i can think of are that it would #1, take forever to load, #2, have a weak body, and #3, not soot that far, but then again, its a prototype. atleast it will be, its only an idea in my head right now, and yes, i like commas, a lot, ive counted 25 in this comment, 26 incuding that one, no 27,28,29, great, now i lost what i was going to say, i got caught up in counting commas, dont forget, chaingun ,35,36 lol
btw ive come up with a sweet machine gun design-NO CHAIN NEEDED!!!!!!! though i havent started building yet, ive got a good idea. if this gun works out, im scraping my chain gun prototype, as this seems much better. it will take a long time and a lot of patience to do this, and since this is such an elabrate desing and so time consuming, it will take a while to catch up to some of my promises on my pistol. other than this comment, this is TOP SECRET. i dont think that i will be saying anything else on the subject
ZOMG i made teh awesom macheen gun its reely kool and TOP SECRET so nobody CAN NOW abouut it so im gunna tel you so you hafta keep it SAFE or i ban you from ki.
I saw those on Youtube a while back! I thought they were very cool, even though the firing rate wasn't great. I really like the treads and stuff. So had you put more bullets in the magazine, would it have continued to fire?
It was a miracle that it could fire to begin with! The tiny hopper that it had could hold 9 and fire them all, holding the motor button down. I should have made a more impressive video of it going around and shooting stuff before I scrapped it for parts...
That it uses a magazine instead of countless barrels is impressive already! Please post designs for this. If instead of a motor a hand crank was used, I'm sure it would be awesome!
Unfortuantely, nobody seemed that interested in it, not even me. Having a system that mechanically pulls back a firing pin is extremely difficult to make reliable, and very badly limits the power of the gun. Those videos were the absolute best I could do, and I'd be very thoroughly impressed if anyone can make a more powerful conveyor cannon. I took pictures of it, but cannot seem to find them. The model got scrapped for parts, and I doubt I'll want to re-build it any time soon. Getting that conveyor system to work was frustrating, and at least three pieces (two black gear belts and one red rod) were accidentally destroyed in trial-and-error process. See, the conveyor chain has to be rod-bendingly tight, or else it will give prematurely as it pulls back. Also, there's a lot of intricasy required to mazimize on red gears pushing the belts. Too much gap between gears, and the belts will give prematurely.
hey crestind, tell KI members i said hi. kinda retired from knex because my ma dont liker meissas(messes). *sigh* ah, well you can't get everything in life. Unless your mepain.
hey faust, I don't mean to be like everyone who advertises their guns, but i'm working on a gun that fires connectors and uses your barrel system. Cool if I use it?
Hey! Faust, I just built a pistol that has two barrels that each use pre-loaded shells that can be loaded with either two green/black rods or one white/grey rod. It is not a block-trigger design. Do you think I should post it?
TO ALL KNEX BUILDERS I, and i others are fed up of these pistols which are all exactly the same but just use different coloured connectors. Only a very small amount of these pistols are original enough to be posted (they have a new magazine or a new cocking system) and the rest are identical. So I have decided to call for a BAN ALL OF THESE PISTOLS AND IDENTICAL COPIES OF OTHER GUNS FROM NOW ON!
sort of like a crossbow but with a barrel. its called a speargun i think. those arent all the cd peices to lazy to pick the other peices off the ground.lol
Looked again and figured out how it works. I originally did post "What is it?", but then I looked on your orangeboard and saw your response :P The style of this revolver is quite unlike the others.
Range and accuracy are not particularly important. If this revolver does load bullets with a revolving chamber and has a range of over 2 or so meters, it's great! After all, it has a new, innovative design, so other lacking stats should not be a major concern.
not all at once, as it would probobly be a waste of ammo for all to be shot at once. it shoots 4 at a time. you push buttons to make it shoot rather than a trigger.
It's not a bad design or anything. It's just that I do not like compact designs because they all offer the same basic design. Actually I think the pico-power gun is smaller though.
NOTICE EVERYONE PLZ READ IF U WANT 2 KNOW WHAT I AM CURRENTLY UP TO AND STUFF LIKE THAT NOTICE NOTICE NOTICE!!!!!!!!!! just so everyone knows i am currently waiting for an order to come in and will mostlikely be placing another order in soon to do testing on stuff when i have time i am testing the power of magnets not just any magnets im going to be testing the power of super magnets i believe the forces generated by these magnets may be great enough to power knex guns instead of using rubberbands this is the biggest delay in progress of the chain gun ive been reading up a bunch about the power of these super magnets basically they are very dangerous, they can crush fingers, brake arms, send metal objects flying across the room toward it, destroy computers, stop pacemakers, and pretty much cause alot of destruction if not used carefully and properly the magnets ive been looking at have a pulling power from 5 to 100lbs and that is all in a very small magnet less then a 1/4 of an inch in diameter that is power that i am looking into and hope to use to power my next generation of knex guns rubberbands are weak hard to use at high strenghts the tension messes with the guns strenght bends rods and basically are very limited in use if u want more power u need bigger rubber bands and a bigger ram this makes compact guns harder to make and less powerful than the larger designs w/ magnets the same amount of power maybe a little less maybe a little more can be generated in a neat clean no more rod bending small gun package it sounds sweet to me and so im going to experiment around with the magnets before i continue work on my chain gun sry but i don't want to spend a bunch of money completing a gun that will be redesigned almost immediatly after being completed it just isn't worth the money so for now and probably the next month or so i will be testing out the magnets if they work as i have invisioned them 2 i have awesome ideas for them so thanks for your support and patience by the way any magnet that can break bones and lift 100lbs sounds strong enough to shoot a knex gun pretty darn far im hoping to shoot one of the designs 100ft and possibly further but i don't want to be too optimistic but why not this might shoot really really far who knows? right so thats why im testing it out if u have any complaints or concerns or just comments let me know i hope this excites u as much as it does me and i hope u agree a chain gun can wait if i can make it 100x better through a little bit of testing perfection can't be rushed thanks again everyone and i hope my designs and ideas have inspired u all
i have just started working on my first instructable it is not the original marble gun because that just sat on the ground and was lame as. so i started working on a trigger system the other day i got it to work and made it in to a marble gun and this one is a hand gun. i don't know how far it shoots yet i broke all my rubber bands and only have a few weak ones left my instructable shood be up in a few days
Thanks for sharing your project, and welcome to Instructables! You should post an Instructable detailing how you made the CAD images and took good pictures of your Knex. Many of the other Knex projects could benefit from your level of detail. Let me know if you have any questions.
